Niki D Therapy
Teenagers
Are you:
- Having problems with your family or with friends?
- Worried about your relationship with your girlfriend or boyfriend?
- Having troubles at school, college or work?
- Wanting to work through difficult experiences?
- Or unhappy and confused about your feelings, behaviour or life in general?
There will always be times when we feel low. Sometimes it can seem that these feelings will never change, the situation will never improve and that there is nobody who understands to help us make sense of our problems. When life is difficult, it can be helpful and reassuring to talk about the problems you are having to someone safe outside of your family or friends, Someone who can support you and who won’t tell you what to do, or criticise you on the way you already live your life. Deciding to see a therapist may be a way forward. Some of the problems that teenagers and young adults come to therapy to talk with me about include the following:
Abuse | Anger & aggression | Bullying | Bereavement | Communication difficulties | Depression | Drug & alcohol use | Eating disorders | Relationship & family problems | Low self-esteem | Self-harm | Sexuality issues | Suicidal feelings
Therapy can provide:
- A chance for you to be listened to and understood.
- Support during times of crisis and change.
- A safe and confidential place where difficult feelings or situations can be spoken about.
- The opportunity to make sense of problems, work out what is going on, explore what choices you have and how you might sort things out.
- Therapy can also help you to learn how to put words to your feelings and to understand yourself and your relationships with other people better.
I could talk about my childhood and personal stuff and not feel weak and Niki listened and made me think about things.”
